Saswati Sarkar received a Master of Engineering in Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science in $1996$ and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park in $2000.$ She is currently an Assistant Professor in the department of Electrical and Systems Engineering in University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests are in resource allocation and performance analysis in communication networks. She received the Motorola gold medal for the best masters student in the division of electrical sciences at the Indian Institute of Science and a National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development Award in $2003.$ She has been associate editors of IEEE Transaction on Wireless Communications from $2001$ and journal of computer networks since 2004.
